The Catholic Campus Ministry at UB began in 1936 through the Newman Center on the South Campus as part of a national Catholic movement on secular college campuses called Newman Clubs. When undergraduate studies moved to the North Campus, the Catholic Campus Ministry transitioned to accommodate students on both campuses. The Newman Center has moved to the North Campus, and St. Joseph University Church continues to provide parish-based, nationally recognized/credited campus ministry for students on the South Campus.
Catholic Campus Ministry at the University at Buffalo is a place to experience community, explore spirituality, and discover ways to serve others through a faith that does justice. We provide opportunities for retreats, service, theological discussions, small groups, social justice advocacy, free meals, and more. All are welcome, as we advocate for a community comprised of a diversity of faith and spiritual perspectives that seeks both wisdom and a fuller spiritual life.
