Catholic Social Teaching at St. Joseph University Parish

The Church’s social teaching is a rich treasure of wisdom about building a just society and living lives of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society. While we are called to respond to people in need, we must also engage in work to change structures and remove the causes of poverty and other social problems.

The themes are the heart of Catholic Social Teaching. The lived experience of our Judeo-Christian community, Scripture, and the Church’s teaching tradition are their foundations. The principles assist us in responding to our Baptismal call to holiness and participation in building a just society—all of us at the table—in God’s kingdom here and now.

Social Justice Committee
