There are several exciting clergy changes happening in our newly formed Campus Ministry Family (Family 36) as part of the Diocesan Road to Renewal program.
We are very pleased to welcome two new members of our Campus Ministry Family pastoral staff: Fr. Jim Monaco and Fr. Paul Seil, who are joining our Family as Senior Parochial Vicars and will be responsible for evangelizing and ministering to our University at Buffalo students.
Fr. Jim will focus on Liturgy, sacramental life, and pastoral care of the entire Parish community at St. Joseph University Parish. Fr. Paul will focus on Liturgy, sacramental life, and pastoral care of both the student and permanent faith communities at the UB Newman Center (North Campus). Fr. Jim and Fr. Paul will be engaging with both faith communities as they serve a common mission and attend to one academic institution – SUNY University at Buffalo.
Fr. Greg Jakubowicz, OFM, is now the Pastor and Vicar Forane of Family 36. Fr. Greg will be engaging with and coordinating with the various and diverse Catholic campus ministries located within our Diocese. He will continue to be based at St. Joseph University Parish and participate in our Parish life.
As Fr. Jack Ledwon previously announced, he will retire at the end of this calendar year. Until then, we are very fortunate that Fr. Jack will continue to serve and be present in his new role of Senior Parochial Vicar for our St. Joseph University Parish and Campus Ministry Family community. Fr. Pat Keleher retired at the end of May from the UB Newman Center and will be helping out as a Weekend Assistant.
Our family is very blessed to have the gifts and talents of Fr. Greg, Fr. Jim, Fr. Paul and Fr. Jack – as well as our priests who serve as Weekend Assistants and our Deacons. We are excited about our future, as we continue working together to build on and strengthen our commitment to Campus Ministry, hospitality, and social justice.
