Bereavement Committee
The Bereavement Committee serves as a resource to families and friends who are grieving a loss by providing grief support information, mailings and phone calls, presentations and an annual memorial service.

Community Mental Health Committee
This group reaches out to recipients of mental health services and their families and friends to lend support through hospitality, information and education about mental health issues. They also host monthly prayer services on the second Friday of every month and an annual interfaith service.

Food Pantry
Four teams pack and deliver the groceries collected from the parish each month to several local food pantries.

Habitat for Humanity
Members of the parish Habitat Team volunteer on the first and third Saturday of the month. No construction experience necessary!

Nursing Home Visitation
Volunteers provide parishioners or members of a parishioner’s family regular spiritual or social visits.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Groups made up of seasoned and novice knitters or crocheters gather on Tuesday afternoons and/or Thursday evenings to create Prayers Shawls.

Social Justice Concerns Committee
This committee meets monthly to focus on justice issues in light of Catholic Social Teaching. The committee helps to educate the parish on various issues and offers opportunities to take action.

St. Vincent de Paul Society
The society is a Catholic lay organization whose members seek to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person assistance to those in need. Activities include home visitations, pick-up and delivery of furniture, and phone calls to meet the need of clients.

Parishioners serve at both of these Dining rooms on the second Saturday of the month. Signup sheets are available in the Community Room each month to volunteer:
Friends of the Night People Dining Room
This facility is located at 394 Hudson Street at the corner of Wadsworth at the end of Allen Street. Volunteers arrive at 3:30 to begin food preparation and set up. Other volunteers provide specific food items are needed for the meal.

Assumption Church Dining Room
This facility is located in the church hall on Amherst Street and Peter Street between Grant and Elmwood. Four volunteers are needed at 8:15 a.m. to help prepare the food. Six additional volunteers are needed at 11:30 a.m. to set up the trays, serve the food and do the dishes.
